Newsletter 4 ....... December 2004

My dear friends, I am again delighted to share how our Saviour Jesus Christ has guided and protected us in our quest to spread the Good News of the Gospel, with "whosoever". The great fact about this outreach is the wide range of souls we are in contact with. Everyone, top entertainers, politicians, athletes, addicts, prisoners, musicians, artists, forces personnel, people from all walks of life. After all, there are no classes, middle, lower, higher, upper, or whatever in the Lord Jesus Christ's curriculum. He is only interested in the genuine souls who cry out to Him for salvation. Most people in history never started out to build a life of misery. Corruption has no favourites. Satan will happily destroy, or use, anyone! It's the job of the Trust to reach souls with the great Gospel, the only Gospel that frees the soul from domination of self. So, here are the last few months of activities, although, as ever, it's just a snippet.

June 04

Had a lovely letter from Dr. Moumodu Ibrahim. who is serving a long sentence in Bangwang Prison in Thailand. He thanks us so much for the parcel of Mission Praise Books, Bibles, tracts and especially the big radio cassette deck which plays good solid Christian tapes and music. The 38 Christians all send a big thank you. Also Mr. Kingsley Bwalya writes from Bwacha Parish Jail in Zambia saying how encouraged he and the fellow inmates were to receive all the Christian "goodies". Yes, many are trusting Christ through the contents of these "mercy parcels". Keep praying.

July 04

The local Christians in Dumfriesshire hired 28 days of radio space from July to August. It was a great privilege to be asked by Pastor Mark Smith to testify for Jesus on air for two hours at the end of July. I spoke right across South West Scotland, telling of the riches of grace, as the Lord Jesus died for the sins of the world. The programme was from 10 a.m. - 12 noon. Not only one opportunity, but two! It was a cycle dash to get back home for 1 p.m. as the second Christian radio presenter from Ayr (70 miles from Dumfries) arrived to tape another two hour programme for his radio station. It went out all over mid Scotland the following Monday. George Perrie, a Trust volunteer, also testified on this programme, so we were well used. Any friend who would like a copy of either (or both) of these programmes just ask and they will be sent.

August 04

My next door neighbours for the last seven years have been Robert and Anne. Earlier this Summer we had a few good "blethers" in the back garden as we enjoyed the sun and a cool drink. What a shock when Robert came to our door to say that Anne had died, and would I take the funeral. However, God sent wonderful grace, and there I stood before well over 200 souls, telling of the wonderful sacrifice of Christ on our behalf, and that salvation is of the Lord alone. Later at the graveside another opportunity arose to speak the words of Jesus.

September 04

Spoke at the Evangelical Reformed Church in Hackney, London. George Baker, the Pastor, wrote later to say how much the congregation had enjoyed the Testimony and Praise Night. Three hundred United Kingdom Africans all singing "Jesus is the answer" had the hairs on my neck standing at attention. Wonderful memories. Also managed to stand at Piccadilly Circus for well over two hours with the banner. Loads of people stopped and talked, as well as help to put out tracts from two Christian ladies, Charity and Lewanda.

October 04

Klaus and I travelled to Wakefield Prison where I visited Charles Bronson who has been in jail for thirty years, all but a few months. He is bright and fit, a very articulate man who to my mind should be given a chance to prove he has changed. He was married in jail four years ago and has a thirteen year old step-daughter. He so much needs to be with them. This man has not ever killed anyone, yet he is constantly in solitary confinement. He can't even cuddle his mum. However, please pray his appeal in June '06 is successful and he can join his family and begin to live again.

The Olivet Gospel Hall in Falkirk asked me to speak at their supper evening. After a game of "Countdown" we got down to speaking, and if the nineteen books we sold after it is anything to go by, then it was another achievement for Jesus. Also this month I spoke at Abronhill Parish Church in Cumbernauld with a good eighty turning out. There were many unsaved in, and it was a terrific night. Praise the Lord for seeds planted.

November 04

My friend Pat Scully from Accrington was taken home. Pat was heavily disabled, yet she and her husband Mike, also disabled, were two of the most encouraging souls I've ever met. Hundreds turned out to say farewell to this wonderful light of God. We had a celebration of Pat's life at the local Evangelical Hall, and it was truly a blessing. Four of us gave testimony to Pat's life and the seeds planted were many. Pat and Mike were used mightily by God in the Lancashire District. Now Mike must press on; please remember him in your prayers.

So friends, again we have skimmed the "seed surface" with a few stories out of many. Every Saturday and Wednesday it's banner and tracts in the street work, with dozens of enquiries weekly. The Who's Who work has produced the full cast of Chitty Chitty Bang Bang with Jason Donovan, Tony Adams sending me a full programme signed by the whole cast. Also general Mike Jackson wrote thanking us for the book (which he will read at a quiet moment) and also for our prayer support concerning the UK troops. I'm sure you know by now that we are really involved with planting those beautiful gospel seeds into the hearts of whosoever. So please continue to pray for the many avenues of Gospel outreach that God has placed in our paths.

How loyal God is to us. A lovely Christian couple approached me recently to say that Jesus had spoken to them about giving a computer to the John Wilson Trust. May the sweet savour of Christ bless and prosper them both, as we are now turned on. Now I really must learn this computer, and Lord willing, next time we may even have our own website up and running. Keep praying for our supporters from Carlisle to Edinburgh. from Canada to Texas, from Eastern Europe to New Zealand.

So in closing, friends, a big thank you to everyone again for patience and prayers. You really are excellent company and I beg the Lord daily for all our needs to be met, and when they are, let's not forget ever to thank our Saviour.

Please continue to pray for :- Chaz, Sahra, Janice, Anna, Annie, Jan, Angus, Mini, Steff, Martinette, Peter, Duncan, Ray, Morag, Tommy, Davey, Bobby, Stilltes, Dave, Toni, Chantelle, Nikky, Chareece, Robert, Mike, the Evangelical Churches of Dumfries (growth and encouragement), government, police, Alistair (health), Butcher, Ronnie, Ian, Tashy (health) and that local Christians will find more unity in serving Jesus rather than Church denominations.

Encouragement corner.

Follow me: Luke 5:17, 2nd Tim 2:3. Would you follow Christ? Then follow Him in self-denial, in humility, in patience, and in readiness for every good work. Follow Him with a daily cross upon your back, and look to His cross to make our burden light. Follow Him as your guide and guard, and learn to see with His eyes, and to trust in His arm for defence. Follow Him as the friend of sinners, who heals the broken hearted, and gives rest to weary souls, and casts out none that come to Him. Follow Him with faith, resting your whole acceptance with God, and your title to Heaven, on His meritorious blood and righteousness. Lastly, follow Him with much prayer. For though He is full of compassion, He loves to be much entreated; and when He is determined to give a blessing, you must yet wrestle with Him for it. So then, follow Jesus, and He will lead you to glory.

My dearest Saviour and my Guide,
I would be ever walking by Your side;
Oh let me never run astray,
Nor follow the forbidden way.

Can I take this opportunity to thank everyone who supports the JWT in whatever capacity. Also have a blessed Christmas and New Year, a great rest , and most of all, stay close to Jesus.

Love,

John Wilson.
