I served time in these prisons for violence.
My name is Dougie March. This is the story of how Jesus Christ changed my life.
I was brought up in Byker in the East End of Newcastle upon Tyne, England.
In my late teens and early twenties I was part of a gang called The Bigg Market Bender Squad. We travelled around the country following Newcastle United FC, drinking, fighting and generally being up to no good!
Violence became a way of life and most weekends I would be fighting in pubs and nightclubs. I was an angry young man growing increasingly paranoid due to my speed and cocaine addiction.
I took up boxing to try to curb my temper but it only prepared me for the many bar fights that were to come.
My first prison sentence was for 5 charges of assault, 3 of which were on police officers.
Inside Durham Jail I had 2 fights in the first week and I was shipped out to Haverigg in Cumbria. In Haverigg I ended up in the block for fighting, but I preserved some dignity by playing for the prison football team.
By the time I reached the age of 30 I knew I had to change the way I was living. In 1986 I found myself praying and asking God to show me that He was real and to give me the power to change.
God sent two girls to speak to me on a Newcastle street and I gave my life to Jesus Christ at a church near the football ground.
I repented of my sin and chose to walk in God's ways (I was born again). Soon after I was baptised in water by full immersion, (Acts ch.8 v.26-39). I started to be led daily by the Holy Spirit and I began to read and study the Bible. ("Faith comes by hearing and hearing by the Word of God". - Romans ch.10 v.17). If you are open to God He will speak to you in many ways but He will never tell you anything that contradicts the Bible. The Love of God in Christ Jesus was beginning to change me forever! Twenty years later I have preached God's Word in over 37 countries, including Rwanda, USA, India, Finland, Italy, Romania, Sri Lanka, Spain, Uganda, Norway, Dem.Rep.Congo, Australia and New Zealand.
I live totally by faith and God supplies all my needs as I preach on the streets, in churches, in prisons and in schools.
Heaven is a real place and Hell, the Lake of Fire, is a real place too. (See Luke ch.16 v.19-31 and Revelation ch.20 v.10-15). What you do with Jesus Christ will determine where you spend eternity.
That is why Jesus said "YOU
MUST BE BORN AGAIN" (see John ch.3 v.3).

1. Jesus is the Eternal Son of God. He is the second person of the Godhead - this means that Jesus is God. (John ch.1 v.1, Colossians ch.l v.13-23, John ch.20 v.28, Colossians ch.2 v.9)
2. Jesus was born of a virgin and lived a sinless life. No other person has ever lived without sin. (Matthew ch.l v.18-25, Romans ch.3 v.23).
3. Jesus was crucified and died physically, and He rose from the dead physically (Luke ch.23 v.46, John ch.20 v.26-31).
4. Jesus died for all the sin of the world and He is the only way to God (John ch.14 v.6, John ch.3 v.16).
It is not possible to find biblical salvation or to know God personally by any of the following: Hinduism, Freemasonry, Islam, Buddhism, Worshipping Mary, Jehovah's Witnesses, the Occult, New Age Movement, Mormonism, Evolution, Hare Krishna, Spiritualism, Fortune Telling. (Deuteronomy ch.18 v.10-13).
5. You can only be saved by the grace of God through faith in the finished work of Jesus Christ. The Blood of Jesus Christ is the only thing that can cleanse you of your sin, not good works (Ephesians ch.2 v.8-9).
